So, this is everything we know about the requirements to obtain relic weapons so far. I will try to keep this post up-to-date as I find more information.

Pre-Quest:

1. Obtain a copy of 'On the Properties of Beastmen' (purchased for 25,000 company seals - required rank: Chief Sergeant)

2. Obtain 3 seals from each Hamlet (50k+ points required, 60k+ for better drop rate)

Vortex seals - Hyrstmill

Tremor seals - Aleport

Inferno seals - Golden Bazaar


3. Turn these items in to Rowena (Uldah) in exchange for a Promissary Note key item


Quest:

1. Talk with Gerolt (Hawthorne Hut near Nine Ivies) to obtain the quest (can only be done if you have the Promissary Note)

2. Kill one of the beastmen stronghold bosses (will vary depending on the weapon you are going for) for a key item.

3. Obtain the class-only weapon that corresponds to the job weapon you are going after.

4. Meld two specific tier IV materia to the class-only weapon.

PLD = Mailbreaker + Heaven's Eye IV (Accuracy)

MNK = Avengers + Manathirst IV (+MP)

WAR = Rampager + Touch of Rage IV (Emnity)

DRG = Obelisk + Savage Might IV (Crit Attack)

BRD = Sarnga + Heaven's Eye IV (Accuracy)

WHM = Alkaurops + MND IV (Mind)

BLM = Astrolobe + Hell's Fist IV (Magic Potency)


5. Obtain 3 mythril ore from Aurum Vale (drops from the new chest, which will only be available if you open all of the other 5 chests - the drop rate is very, very, very low normally but appears to be 100% on a speed run of less than 17 minutes)

6. Obtain 3 mythril salts from Cutters Cry (same as above)

7. Obtain a Copy of the Enchiridion from a chest in Dzemael Darkhold (requires a 15 minute or less speed run).

8. Obtain an Allagan Band from Behest at certain camps - as of the June 28th hotfix, the item will be given as a reward from the Behest NPC upon completing Behest. You will only receive it if you are on the correct step in the quest, and it is a guaranteed reward. 9. Obtain an Oschon's Finger Charm from caravan escort - this can ONLY be obtained if you are on this step in the quest (also requires a 1k run).

10. Gather beastmen coins (which type will vary depending on the weapon you are going after). You will need to turn in any of the following (whichever you manage to collect first):

990 common

495 less common

99 rare


11. Spiritbind the unfinished weapon (which has no stats and reduced spiritbond rate)

12. Complete new faction leves with the unfinished weapon equipped (not too sure about this yet - will edit when more details are available)

13. Kill 'Extreme' mode Ifrit while wearing the unfinished weapon.

14. Kill Garuda while wearing the unfinished weapon.
